Unbox the Gifts

It’s been almost two years since I moved out of my apartment into a house. A few months ago, while rummaging through the garage for space to hide the Christmas gifts I had just bought for the kids, I stumbled upon boxes that had traveled with me from my old home. These boxes were filled with crafts and projects started long ago but left untouched since that day. In that moment of reflection, I felt a gentle nudge from the Spirit and an overwhelming sense of inspiration wash over me. I could hear the Lord say, “unbox the gifts”.
This wasn’t just about those Christmas presents hidden away; it was about uncovering the unique talents and passions God had equipped me with over the years. How many of us have embarked on creative journeys only to set them aside? We are all gifted in unique ways—talents bestowed upon us by God that are meant to shine brightly in our lives and the lives of others. Perhaps you have a skill that once brought you joy but has since been neglected. Those gifts we’ve packed away are not meant to collect dust; they are divine tools intended for blessing others.
Remember Philippians 1:6: “God will continue the great work He has started in you.” If you're feeling restless or unfulfilled, know this: there is indeed more waiting for you on this journey. God is calling you to rediscover these dormant abilities! Trust that this feeling is a nudge from God urging you to explore deeper. The very talents you may have tucked away—whether they be artistic, musical, writing, teaching, or something entirely different—are not just for your enjoyment but are meant to shine brightly in this world. They are a part of your purpose and can bring joy and inspiration to those around you.
Unboxing the gifts that God has placed within us is a powerful journey of rediscovery and purpose. Think about what makes your heart sing—the activities that feel less like work and more like a calling. It’s the very thing that energizes you and makes waking up each day an adventure. When you reflect on where God has taken you thus far, you'll begin to see how each step has prepared you for this moment of unboxing your gifts. So take a leap of faith! Dust off those forgotten passions and let them flourish once more. Start by nurturing your relationship with Him—set aside quiet time each day where His voice can resonate within your heart. Keep a journal handy; jot down thoughts, revelations or inspirations as they come, even if they seem unclear at first. Trust the process! Understand this: He won’t lay out an entire roadmap before you because He desires a relationship built on faith and reliance on Him. Some steps may seem beyond your reach right now; that's okay! In time, God will reveal His plan as you cultivate intimacy with Him. Embrace this season of discovery as an opportunity not only to unbox your gifts but also to step boldly into the purpose He has designed specifically for you.
The journey ahead is waiting for you; embrace it wholeheartedly because God will continue the great work He has started in you. It’s time to unpack! So go ahead—unbox those gifts! The world is waiting eagerly for what only YOU can offer.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I decree and declare today is the day that I believe in my heart that You will continue to do the great work you have started in me. I may have lost sight of the vision you bestowed upon me but I am reminded that you are a God of provision. I will walk by faith and not by sight. I know that if I pick up from where I left and follow your divine calling for me, You will provide and equip me the very things I need to accomplish my calling. I will allow you to place me in the spiritual slow cooker and be patient because I know your timing is always the best timing. As I begin to unpack my gifts, remind me how important this is not only for me but for others around me. Anoint my hands, my mind, my heart and my mouth to bring You the glory. In Your Heavenly Name we pray, Amen.
